Located in a walkable central Austin neighborhood, this project transforms a modest one-story home into a layered, multi-use residence designed for growth, privacy, and connection. Built for a physician and her builder husband, the design reflects both personal touches and professional rigor.

The addition of a second floor and a separate backyard ADU allows for future flexibility, hosting renters, family, or creative space. Indoor-outdoor integration is core to the experience, with breezeways, decks, and a detached “she-shed” that includes its own outdoor shower. Gabled forms and crisp dormers give the home a refined presence, while thoughtful screening provides privacy from close neighbors. Modest in size but rich in spatial experience, the home strikes a careful balance between urban life and personal sanctuary.
