Perched along a gentle rise in the Texas Hill Country, the Dripping Springs Residence is conceived as a contemporary refuge—anchored to the land and attuned to the rhythms of light, view, and privacy. The design embraces its natural surroundings, blending strong horizontal gestures with carefully framed openings that orient each space toward curated moments in the landscape.
The home is organized as a series of interconnected volumes, articulated through low-slung rooflines and material transitions that subtly break down the scale of the building. A restrained palette of limestone, charred wood, and steel responds to the rugged topography and oak-dotted terrain, offering both durability and warmth. Expansive glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, while deep overhangs modulate the intense Texas sun, creating a comfortable environment year-round.
Circulation through the house unfolds as a sequence of reveals—long axial views, glimpses of sky, and framed sightlines that connect distant hills with intimate garden courtyards. Public and private zones are carefully layered, allowing for both solitude and shared experience. Interior spaces are defined by clean lines and tactile materials, with custom millwork and exposed structural elements reflecting the home’s honest, modern character.
