Nestled in the mountains of Angel Fire, New Mexico, this ski-in, ski-out family retreat was designed for multi-generational living, seasonal flexibility, and high-desert character. Inspired by local mining cabins and alpine lodges, the design weaves together rustic charm with quiet sophistication.
Spaces are tailored to the rituals of ski season and summer escape alike, mudrooms, bunk rooms, cozy sleeping nooks, and a stargazing porch capture the rhythms of retreat. Pitched metal roofs shed snow efficiently, while wide porches embrace the changing light of the high-altitude landscape. Regional materials root the home in its context, and its proportions speak to a simpler, slower pace. Both personal and communal, the home offers sanctuary after a long day on the slopes, or under the stars.
