Academy Drive Residence

Tucked into Austin’s historic Travis Heights, the Academy Drive Residence was conceived as a speculative modern home with long-term flexibility. The challenge was to design a space with immediate curb appeal and lasting adaptability—capable of serving families, couples, or multi-generational households with ease.

To achieve this, the design strategically separates the site into two independent but connected residences: a main home oriented toward the tree-filled rear and Lady Bird Lake, and a fully detached ADU facing the street. Internal connections allow for optional integration, while spatial divisions preserve privacy. Inside, natural light animates clean lines and modest volumes, creating a home that feels tailored and timeless. Framed downtown views from key moments in the plan complete the experience, offering a rare combination of seclusion and skyline.
